Additional information

Germe was a small Mysian city whose civic coinage under Gordian III was administered by the local magistrate Aelius Aristoneikos, whose name and title appear in the genitive on this issue — a common provincial convention indicating the coin was struck during his tenure. The city's output under Gordian is modest in variety, and Aristoneikos appears on only a handful of documented types, making his magistracy one of the shorter or less prolific recorded for the mint.
