| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from behind, presenting a three-quarter rear view characteristic of provincial coinage of this period. The imperial effigy is rendered in the conventional Severan-Gordian style, with paludamentum visible over the cuirass. The surrounding Greek legend runs clockwise along the periphery of the flan, framing the portrait within a dotted border, though heavily worn on this example. |

| Reverse description | Tyche, the personification of city fortune, stands facing left in the field, draped in a long chiton. She holds a rudder in her right hand, symbolising guidance and destiny, and a cornucopia in her left arm, signifying abundance. The reverse legend, distributed around the field and periphery, identifies the issuing civic magistrate and city. The type is a standard civic reverse employed by Magnesia ad Maeandrum during the reign of Gordian III, though detail is largely obscured by heavy patination and wear on this specimen. |
