| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, presented in three-quarter view from the front, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The imperial effigy displays youthful features consistent with Gordian III's portraiture. The circular Greek legend runs along the outer border of the flan, partially obscured by wear and irregular strike. The coin exhibits a dark olive-brown patina with areas of green encrustation typical of provincially struck bronze issues of the mid-third century AD. |
