Reverse description Dionysus standing facing left in full figure, extending his right hand to proffer a cantharus above a panther crouching at his feet, while his left arm rests upon a tall thyrsus. To the right, a small satyr is depicted in a crouching posture, completing the Dionysiac thiasos composition characteristic of Phrygian civic bronzes. The encircling ethnic legend ΑΙΖΑΝΕΙΤΩΝ is disposed around the field. The iconography reflects the strong cultic veneration of Dionysus at Aezani in Phrygia during the Imperial period.
