| Obverse description | Bare-headed, laureate bust of the Emperor Commodus facing right, draped in paludamentum and possibly cuirass, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Bithynian civic coinage. The portrait displays the characteristic curly hair and youthful features associated with Commodan imperial iconography. A Greek imperial titulature legend surrounds the bust in the field. The flan is irregular and the strike moderately off-centre, consistent with the hammered technique of provincial bronze coinage of this period. |
