| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla facing right, rendered in the characteristic youthful portrait style of the emperor's early reign. The radiate laurel wreath is rendered with fine pellet-like berries, and the short-cropped hair and strong facial features are consistent with official Severan portraiture. The legend is disposed around the periphery of the field in Greek characters. A dotted border frames the design. |
