Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of the emperor Caracalla facing right, seen from the rear, with the paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder and the cuirass visible beneath. The portrait is rendered in a vigorous provincial style characteristic of Lydian civic coinage of the Severan period. The encircling Greek legend in the field reads ΑΥ Κ Μ ΑΥ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his imperial titulature.
