| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, seen from the centre or rear, the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The obverse legend, rendered in Greek majuscules, encircles the bust and identifies the emperor by his full titulature. The portrait reflects the Alexandrian provincial style, combining elements of Roman imperial iconography with local artistic conventions. The radiate crown distinguishes this issue within the Alexandrian civic coinage of regnal year 2. |
