Reverse description Cybele, turreted and enthroned, seated left upon a throne, extending a patera in her right hand over a recumbent lion at her feet, while her left arm rests upon a tympanum. The composition reflects the prominent cult of Cybele as the tutelary deity of Ancyra in Galatia. The encircling Greek legend names the local magistrate Licinius as archon of the Ancyraeans, a common practice of attribution on civic provincial bronzes of this period.
