| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Vespasian facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Ionian civic coinage. The effigy displays the characteristic portrait features of the Flavian emperor with a short, closely cropped wreath of laurel. A circular Greek legend surrounds the bust, reading ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤΩΡ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ΟΥΕϹΠΑϹΙΑΝΟϹ (ϹΕΒΑϹΤΟϹ), proclaiming his imperial titles. The coin bears a small perforation hole near the top of the flan, indicating it was mounted or worn as a pendant in antiquity. The surfaces show a dark olive-brown patina with areas of encrustation consistent with extended burial. |
