Obverse description Draped and diademed bust of Empress Salonina facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Asia Minor civic coinage. The effigy presents the empress with elaborately styled hair secured by a diadem, her drapery visible at the shoulder and chest. The circular legend runs around the periphery of the flan, naming the empress in Greek characters. The portrait is struck on a slightly irregular, broad flan characteristic of Pergamene civic bronzes of the mid-third century AD.
