Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valerian facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view typical of mid-third-century provincial coinage. The emperor's paludamentum is visible over the cuirass, rendered in low relief consistent with the provincial die-cutting tradition of the Ionian mint. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading ΑΥΤ Κ ΠΟ ΛΙ ΟΥΑΛΕΡΙΑΝΟϹ, invoking his full imperial titulature. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show the characteristic sandy patina of bronzes struck at Asian provincial workshops during the joint reign.
