| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Cyzicus mint. The laureate wreath is rendered in bold relief, with individual leaves clearly articulated. The Greek imperial titulature is inscribed in the surrounding legend, reading clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portrait exhibits the characteristic strong features associated with Trajanic coinage, with a prominent nose and firm jaw. |
