| Obverse description | Draped bust of the Roman Senate personified, facing right, with hair rendered in fine strands swept back from the forehead. The portrait is set within a dotted border, with the Greek legend ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ (Sacred Senate) distributed around the periphery of the field. The artistic style is characteristic of provincial bronzes struck under Severus Alexander, with slightly stylized facial features typical of the Milesian conventus. |
