| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, with short beard rendered in fine detail characteristic of his portraiture. The imperial effigy is encircled by a partially visible Greek legend reading [---] Κ Λ ϹΕΠΤΙ ϹΕΥ[---], referencing the emperor's titles and name. The flan is irregular and somewhat worn, with the legend partially off-flan at both ends. A countermark appears in the lower left field, depicting a small figure within an oval incuse, a common administrative re-validation mark used in Bithynian civic coinage. |

| Reverse description | An eagle stands facing right atop a rectangular altar, wings fully spread in heraldic display, holding a wreath in its beak — a powerful symbol of imperial apotheosis and divine favor widely employed in Bithynian civic bronzes. A military standard rises on each side of the eagle, flanking the central device symmetrically. The reverse legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ, meaning 'of the Nicaeans,' runs around the field, asserting the civic identity of the issuing city of Nicaea. The overall style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period struck in Bithynia. |
