| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, with characteristically curled beard and hair rendered in fine detail. The emperor's effigy is depicted in the typical provincial style of Bithynian coinage, with the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan, partially obscured by the irregular flan edge. A counterstamp depicting a small head is visible in the lower right field. |

| Reverse description | Dikaiosyne (personification of Justice) standing left in long chiton and himation, holding a pair of scales in her extended right hand and a cornucopia in her left arm. The figure is rendered in the conventional provincial style, with drapery falling in vertical folds to the ground. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ is distributed around the field, identifying the issuing city of Nicaea in Bithynia. |
