Obverse description Laureate head of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in the typical provincial style of Bithynian coinage. The effigy displays the emperor's characteristic beard and strong facial features. The circular legend surrounds the portrait in Greek characters, reading Α Κ Λ ϹΕΠΤ ϹΕΟΥΗΡΟϹ ΠΕΡ ϹΕ, abbreviating his full imperial titulature. The die work is competent if somewhat worn, consistent with a long-circulating provincial bronze issue.
