| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip II as Caesar facing right, seen from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The Latin obverse legend M IVL PHILIPPVS CAES encircles the effigy, running along the border of the flan. The portrait exhibits the characteristic youthful features associated with Philip II prior to his elevation to Augustus. |
