Obverse description Draped bust of Otacilia Severa, diademed, facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Ionian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The effigy displays wavy hair gathered beneath the diadem and a draped shoulder. The encircling Greek legend names the empress in the nominative case. The flan is slightly irregular and the surfaces show characteristic green patination consistent with long burial.
