| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip II as Caesar facing right, rendered in three-quarter frontal perspective. The portrait displays the youthful features of the junior emperor, with paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The encircling Latin legend reads IVL PHILIPPVS CAES, distributed around the periphery within a beaded border. The flan is irregular, showing characteristic provincial hammered fabric with a dark green patina. |
