Obverse description Bare laureate head of Emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, rendered in the realist portrait style characteristic of Antonine-period provincial bronzes. The radiate wreath is clearly delineated across the brow, and the features display the mature, bearded effigy associated with Marcus Aurelius's reign. The Imperial titulature legend surrounds the portrait in Greek characters, reading Α Κ Μ ΑΥΡ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝοϹ, identifying him as Emperor Caesar Marcus Aurelius Antoninus.
