Obverse description Bare-headed, cuirassed bust of Lucius Verus facing left, depicted in the imperial military manner typical of provincial bronze coinage of the Antonine period. The emperor's features are rendered with short-cropped hair and a full beard characteristic of Verus. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΑΥ Κ Λ ΑΥΡΗ ΟΥΗΡΟϹ ϹΕ, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The coin shows a deep green patina with areas of earthen deposit consistent with prolonged burial.
