Obverse description Bare, diademed head of the eponymous hero Kyzikos depicted in youthful aspect, facing right, rendered in the classical Greek provincial style typical of Mysian civic coinage. The portrait exhibits fine modelling of facial features characteristic of mid-Antonine period die-cutting, though heavily worn on this example. The encircling legend ΚΥΖΙΚΟϹ identifies the heroic effigy, disposed around the periphery of the flan.
