| Obverse description | Bare-headed portrait bust of Emperor Marcus Aurelius facing right, with traces of drapery visible at the shoulder truncation, rendered in the typical Antonine style with curly hair and short beard. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙϹ Μ ΑΥΡΗΛΙΟϹ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝΟϹ in the field around the effigy. The die work is characteristic of provincial civic coinage, with bold high-relief portraiture. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with hand-hammered provincial production. |
