Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, with short beard, rendered in the provincial style typical of Bithynian civic coinage. The emperor's effigy displays characteristic portraiture of his brief reign, with a laurel wreath clearly visible atop the head. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust along the periphery of the flan. The flan is irregular and slightly worn, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the early third century AD.
