| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Macrinus facing right, rendered in three-quarter view seen from the rear, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder. The effigy displays a bearded portrait consistent with known representations of Macrinus on provincial coinage. A Greek imperial legend encircles the bust within a dotted border, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The die-work reflects the provincial workshop style of Bithynia, with bold, somewhat coarse engraving characteristic of Nicaean bronzes of this period. |
