| Obverse description | Laureate bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, with drapery visible on the left shoulder, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Pontic municipal coinage. The emperor's youthful features are modelled in moderate relief, with the laurel wreath clearly defined. A Greek legend encircles the effigy within a beaded border. The flan is noticeably irregular, with a significant chip to the right, as typical of hammered provincial bronzes of this period. |
