| Reverse description | Zeus enthroned to the left, nude to the waist and draped over the lower body, holding a patera in his extended right hand and a long sceptre in his left; before him stands Hera to the right, similarly draped, holding a sceptre in her left hand and grasping the arm of Zeus with her right in a gesture of divine concordance. The composition, a standard type for the civic coinage of Bruzus in Phrygia, emphasises the supreme divine pair as patrons of the city. The ethnic legend ΒΡΟΥΖΗΝΩΝ is inscribed around the reverse field. |
