| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Tranquillina facing right, her hair elaborately coiffed and bound with a diadem, wearing a necklace. The effigy is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Pontic civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The encircling Greek legend ϹΑΒ ΤΡΑΝΚΥΛΙΝΑ ϹΕΒ identifies the empress, and the field is bordered by a beaded dotted border. |
