| Obverse description | Draped bust of Empress Salonina facing right, her hair elaborately arranged and bound, set within a circular border. The peripheral legend ΙΟΥ ΚΟΡ ϹΑΛΩΝΙΝΑ runs around the bust, identifying her as Julia Cornelia Salonina. The portrait is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Lydian mint of Tralles during the sole reign of Gallienus (260–268 AD). The flan is irregular and the surfaces are heavily worn with a dark patina. |
