| Reverse description | Zeus of Aezani depicted standing to the left in the field, his weight borne on a long sceptre held in his raised left hand, while his extended right hand holds an eagle, the god's sacred attribute. The figure is rendered in the schematic provincial style characteristic of Phrygian civic bronzes of the third century AD. The ethnic legend of the issuing city encircles the type in the periphery of the flan. The reverse surface exhibits significant wear and corrosion, with the legend partially legible. |
