| Obverse description | Diademed and draped bust of Julia Maesa facing right, depicted with elaborately coiffed hair adorned with a diadem, the drapery rendered in folds across the shoulder and chest. The effigy is rendered in the provincial Greek style characteristic of Smyrnaean civic coinage of the Severan period. The circular legend ΙΟΥΛ ΜΑΙϹΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ runs along the upper periphery of the flan within a beaded border. |
