| Obverse description | Laureate head of the city goddess Chersonas facing right, rendered in a provincial Hellenistic style. A palm branch appears in the left field and a lyre in the right field, both serving as civic emblems of Chersonesus. The peripheral Greek legend ΕΙΡΗΝΗϹ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗϹ encircles the effigy, referencing the Augustan Peace. The flan is irregular and somewhat rough, characteristic of local Pontic bronze production of the period. |
