| Reverse description | Zeus enthroned to the left, depicted as a mature, draped figure seated on a high-backed throne. He extends his right hand to hold a patera over a low altar, while his left hand rests upon a tall vertical sceptre. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ is distributed in the field to either side of the deity, all within a beaded border. The composition follows the standard Zeus Nikephoros/enthroned type widely adopted by Bithynian civic coinage of the Antonine period. |
