| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Alexandrian coinage. The portrait displays the emperor's curled hair and beard in typical late 2nd-century fashion. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, reading the emperor's full titulature. The flan is irregular, as is customary for Egyptian provincial bronze issues of this period. |
