| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial Alexandrian style with somewhat schematic modeling. The imperial effigy is depicted with the characteristic laurel wreath of the Roman emperors. The surrounding field bears the Greek imperial titulature legend. The flan is irregular and the surfaces show heavy wear and green patination consistent with long burial. |
