Obverse description Bare, youthful diademed head of the eponymous hero Kyzikos facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic tradition typical of civic coinage from the Mysian mint. The portrait is executed in low relief with finely drawn facial features, the diadem band visible above the brow. The encircling Greek legend ΚΥΖΙΚΟϹ identifies the depicted figure. The coin is heavily encrusted with dark patina, partially obscuring fine detail.
