Obverse description Laureate, cuirassed and paludamentum-draped bust of Emperor Commodus, with long beard, facing right, seen from the centre. The obverse legend in Greek encircles the portrait, identifying the emperor with his imperial titles. The bust displays the characteristic long beard associated with Commodus's later reign iconography, rendered in the provincial style typical of Phrygian civic coinage.
