Reverse description Demeter, draped, seated left on a high-backed throne, extending her right hand to hold a bundle of ears of corn and resting her left arm upon a tall vertical sceptre. The composition is rendered in the standard typology of the seated Demeter common to Bithynian civic bronze coinage. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ is distributed across the field, identifying the issuing city of Nicaea.
