Reverse description Zeus enthroned to the left, rendered in the classical tradition, his body semi-draped with himation across the lower limbs. In his extended right hand he holds a patera, and in his left hand a long vertical sceptre rising to the upper field. The throne is depicted with legs visible beneath the deity. The ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ, identifying the issuing city of Nicaea, is distributed around the periphery within a dotted border. The reverse field shows significant wear consistent with heavy circulation.
