Obverse description Draped bust of Julia Domna facing right, her elaborately waved and ridged hair arranged in the characteristic Severan style and crowned with a stephane. She is depicted wearing the toga praetexta, rendered in fine detail across her shoulders and chest. The Greek legend encircles the portrait within a beaded border, identifying the empress as Julia Pia Augusta. The portraiture is characteristic of provincial bronze coinage from Bithynia, exhibiting the refined artistic conventions of the Severan period.
