Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, portrayed from behind so as to reveal the rear of the cuirass; a spear projects upward behind the shoulder. The imperial effigy is rendered in the vigorous, martial style characteristic of Severan provincial coinage. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his imperial titulature.
