| Reverse description | Nike, the winged goddess of victory, depicted standing and driving a quadriga — a four-horse chariot — moving to the left. Nike extends her right arm forward, holding a wreath in a gesture of triumph. The regnal date formula L Β (Year 2) appears in the upper left field, corresponding to the second regnal year of Antoninus Pius (138–139 AD). The composition is enclosed within a linear border, with the horses and chariot wheel rendered in the bold, somewhat schematic style typical of Alexandrian provincial bronzes. |
