| Obverse description | Bare or lightly draped bust of Augustus facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic provincial tradition with curled hair and idealized facial features. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait in the field, now largely worn and illegible on this specimen. The flan is irregular and shows typical characteristics of locally struck Tripolitanian bronze coinage of the early Imperial period. The portrait style reflects the influence of Augustan official coinage adapted for local civic production at Oea. |
