(Translation: Saloninus Valerianus Caesar)
Reverse description Heracles striding to left with head turned back to the right, nude and bearded, brandishing his knotted club raised in his right hand. Behind the hero stands a cow facing right, representing one of the cattle of Geryon captured during the hero's Tenth Labour — an allusion to the mythological foundation traditions of Heraclea Pontica, whose patron deity was Heracles. The scene is rendered in the vigorous provincial style typical of Bithynian civic bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD.
