Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, rendered from a rear three-quarter perspective, with the paludamentum visible over the left shoulder and the muscled cuirass indicating imperial military authority. The effigy is rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Ephesian mint under the joint reign of Valerian and Gallienus. The circular legend surrounds the bust and identifies the emperor by his full titulature.
