| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing right, presented in three-quarter frontal view. The effigy displays the characteristic military paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, combined with the segmented cuirass typical of mid-third-century imperial portraiture. The surrounding Latin legend reads IMP LICIN VALERIANVS AVG, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregularly shaped, as is customary for provincial bronze coinage of this period and region. |
