Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the Alexandrian provincial style. The laureate wreath is visible atop the portrait, with paludamentum draped over the left shoulder. A circular Greek legend surrounds the effigy, divided on either side of the bust across the field. The die work is characteristic of the Alexandrian mint's early output under Trajan, with broad, somewhat flat portraiture typical of regnal year 1 issues.
