Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan facing right, draped with paludamentum visible from the rear, the portrait rendered in the characteristic provincial style of the Pergamene conventus. The imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan in Greek characters. The effigy conveys the military authority of the emperor through the combination of laurel wreath, body armour, and campaign cloak.
