| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of the emperor Severus Alexander facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, displaying the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the musculature of the cuirass. The imperial effigy is set centrally within the field, with the legend disposed around the periphery. The portraiture reflects the provincial workshop style characteristic of Pontic colonial issues of the early third century AD. |
